7.62mm GPMG - Mounting Tripod
The Sustained Fire Tripod for the 7.62mm GPMG. Used on fixed lines, the tripod is buffered to absorb recoil thus ensuring effective and accurate fire over fixed arcs out to 1800 meters. Deflection and elevation drums are fitted to the tripod to allow precise movement between pre-selected targets.

Designed specifically for the M2HB .50 cal MG, Softmount absorbs much of the considerable recoil energy of the .50 cal cartridge thus allowing quicker target acquisition and improved accuracy of aim.
The Softmount fits directly to the M3 Tripod, M31 Pedestal and M63 Mountings, or may be fitted to other, existing mountings according to customer requirements. The Softmount is particularly effective when there is a requirement for the use of night vision or thermal imaging equipment.

The standard, low silhouette ground mount for the M2HB .50 cal MG. Used with a traversing and elevating mechanism, the mount allows the gun to be used on fixed lines. When fitted with the Manroy .50 cal Softmount and T&E mechanism, the tripod permits the effective use of night vision or thermal imaging equipment for optimum performance at night or in conditions of poor visibility.
